December
Just in time for New Year’s resolutions, More.com published my article on healthy junk food – Adult Guide to Childhood Favorites.
For those of you trying to warm up, special Kindle pricing is available for my novel, Real Women Wear Red, where 3 women, all looking for love, meet up on a 7 night Caribbean cruise and discover they have more in common than their motto that “real women wear red.”
For the December meeting of “The Book Review Club,” check out this special Christmas-theme book – Mistletoe and Murder by Florence Case. You can also see this post featured on Sandra Sookoo’s Believing is Seeing blog, celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas, with guest bloggers for each day.
November
For the November meeting of “The Book Review Club.” I’ve chosen a nonfiction book, Godfather of Night: A Greek Mafia Father, a Drug Runner Son, and an Unexpected Shot at Redemption by Kevin Pappas.
October
My article, Claiming Your Expertise, was published on More.com.

The September meeting of YA author Barrie Summy and her “Book Review Club” finds me reviewing Laura Caldwell’s third Izzy McNeil novel – Red, White & Dead.

An outtake from Real Women Wear Red, Cyn’s Guide to Dignity and Self-Respect at the OB/GYN was published on More.com.

Found the recipe for the “Pink Monorail” drink, originally served at the top of the Contemporary at Walt Disney World. This drink made it into my novel, Real Women Wear Red, after a chance encounter with a woman at the Trout Pass Bar at Wilderness Lodge at Disney World. You can get the recipe, although I must credit fellow Passporter Pinkerbell for tracking down the recipe.
Speaking of Disney, we just returned from the Food & Wine Festival at Disneyland and will be posting about our experience.
April
Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew: April Fool’s Day was the perfect choice for the April meeting of “The Book Review Club.”
I’m pleased to be quoted in the Spring Issue of Kite Tales about securing my own domain name of kathyholmes.net.
March
Real Women Wear Red is available on Kindle. When I first heard about Kindle, I wasn’t sure what to think. But somewhere along the line I saw an opportunity and so I made my book, already available on Amazon.com, available in their Kindle store.
And it’s paying off – for writers looking for wider distribution of their books – and for readers in search of a wider variety of books not found in the local book store. With the demise of so many independent book stores, it’s a real boon to the book world.
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie was my choice for the March meeting of “The Book Review Club.” Definitely my favorite Jennifer Crusie.
February
The story behind the dinner at Napa Rose almost being ruined by lack of parental supervision.
The Breakup Bible by Melissa Kantor – my choice for the first meeting of “The Book Review Club.” Ironically, I discovered it while at Disneyland – at Compass Books at Downtown Disneyland.
January
My review of Napa Rose, the only 5-star Michelin restaurant in Orange County is in the Grand Californian Hotel of Disneyland Resort.
